Operation

Autologous fat is taken for example, from the patient’s own abdominal wall, buttocks or thighs as in liposuction. The fatty tissue which has been removed is then refined in a process we have specially adapted (a modification of the Coleman process). This processed fat from the patient’s own body is rich in stem cells and is re-injected using fine cannula.

The advantages of this treatment are that a larger area can be infiltrated. The stem cells increase the thickness of the skin and thereby smooth out the wrinkles. In addition, blood circulation is improved by the growth factors in the fat transplant, creating a fresh, rosy skin colour. The effects of an autologous fat injection usually last considerably longer than those of artificial fillers, since a considerable number of the re-injected fat cells are engrafted.

After the operation

  • Cool the area
  • Wear a compression garment for 4 weeks
  • Avoid make-up for 4 days
  • Avoid strenuous activity such as sports for 4 weeks
